Lifelong Friends!

We had the Longs over for a cookout and swim party! It was so good to see them especially since we'd been trying to get everyone together for over a year now!  I think it's so cool that my dad and Mr Larry were best friends when they were in high school and are still friends today!! It ended up beeing rainy and cloudy and the water was completely freezing but we still had a great time by bringing out the corn holes!!

I heart School Supplies!!

We decided to take Emma and Thomas to Target in Memphis Friday for some back to school shopping!! We got everything on Emma's list and her backpack and lunch box is supposed to be delivered this week! I can't believe my big girl is going to be in FIRST GRADE in just a few short weeks!! We can't wait to find out who her teacher is and who all is in her class! Hopefully we will have just as awesome a year as last year!

Lindley/Carroll Beach Vaca 2014!!

We just got back today from a fabulous week in Destin with our best family friends!!  We had such a great time as a family and hopefully will make it an anual event!!  We even drug Nick along...kicking and screaming, of course! ;)

Saturday evening, the boys took the kids straight to the beach and pool while Miranda and I made a quick run to the grocery store! We had pizza delivered so we wouldn't have to get ready yo go anywhere!

Sunday morning we got up and hit the beach!!

Madi started out the week as her usual anti-beach self, but finally warmed up to the ocean!!

Miranda and I figured these two would have a blast and we were exactly right!!

Nick and Jason took the big kids on a little kayak ride!

We stayed at Waterscape in Ft Walton and the pool and lazy river and splash pad were AWESOME!!

Emily and Madi also had a big time playing with each other and trying to hang with the big kids!! We ate at the Crab Trap Sunday night...which is always delicious!!

Monday morning we decided to start at the pool and then go to the beach since Nick and Jason went to Bass Pro that morning. 

We decided to cook out at the pool that night and caught the movie on the jumbo screen right outside our balcony!

As predicted, Tuesday was rainy off and on all day so we took that opportunity to go eat lunch at Pompano Joe's and then to baytowne for some zip-lining!  We then ate supper at Margaritaville!

Madi also had to do her spider jump!

Wednesday was actually the prettiest and coolest day we had! We stayed at the beach all day soaking in the sun!! Then we went to Harbour Walk and ate at AJ's!!

And Madi FINALLY decided she liked the ocean!!!!  

4 or 5 dolphins swam up really close to shore!! Wish we would have been out in the water!!

And of course we had to get family photos in white! ;)

We had such a GREAT time and I really think it was just what our family needed!! Hopefully we can make it happen again next year!!  Sadly, this is our last trip to the beach for 2014...or at least that we have planned! ;)
