Happy Heart Day!

I decided to let the girls open up their Valentine's Day goodies the night before because (as I've mentioned before) Madi is not much of a morning person! Plus Valentine's Day was on Friday this year and Madi doesn't have school on Fridays, so usually just gets up just in time to go to LoLo's! Well...it was a good thing I did! Madi ended up having a UTI with fever of 101-102 ALL day on Friday. By 10pm on Friday it had spiked to 104.7-105.2!!!! I was freaking out! But, with the help of Tylenol suppositories, an alcohol/lukewarm water rub down, antibiotics, and LoLo, we were able to finally get it down to a reasonable point and didn't have to go to the ER. Bless her heart, she felt terrible all day. But she sweated it all off by midnight and didn't even act sick on Saturday!!! It was really scary though, and i hope neither of my kids ever get fever that high again!!

We had our usual "Mexican Thursday" after cheer with LoLo and PaPa, but had special love bug cupcakes from LoLo too!!
Sweethearts!!
The girls got matching (of course) leggings, heart headbands, candy, the Frozen soundtrack, a princess DVD and Annie DVD!!
Happy Valentine's Day!!

And this is how we spent V-Day night :( poor baby!!

Emma's School Pageant!

Emma decided to participate in the Saltiillo Elementary School pageant (kind of last minute)! She looked gorgeous, but for some reason acted very shy on stage??! So not her! She didn't place but had fun!!

Once a Month Cook!

I recently saw a couple of blogs titled "once a month cook", and LoLo and I decided we'd give it a try! The idea is to cook up a bunch of meals and freeze them at one sitting so you only have to heat up supper at night!! IT IS AWESOME!!!!!  Don't get me wrong...it was a LOT of work and we were exhausted after cooking for 6 hours, but totally worth it!  We ended up freezing 16 meals each that consisted of : chicken and dressing, pork chop casserole, lasagna, spaghetti, chicken and rice, taco soup, roast and potatoes, and ground beef (for quick hamburger helper or tacos). We even prepared a couple of side dishes like ranch potatoes and sweet potato casserole.  Here's a few pics:
Ta-da!!!  My freezer stash!
This has literally revolutionized our nighttime routine!! Our goal was to be able to make enough for 4 meals per week. It takes about 15-20 minutes to heat the main meal up in the oven and we usually open up some canned vegetable to go with it. Awesome, home-cooked meal in 20 minutes! And clean up is a breeze...just toss! This process has given me an extra hour at night with the girls to play! And it is cheaper because we don't throw half the meal away like usual!! I highly recommend to all of my mommy friends that work!!

Emma's Cheer Competition-Nashville 1/25/14

Emma's cheer team competed in Nashville on Saturday, January 25th! The girls competed at 7:45am and they did great, though it was not their best performance and we didn't place very well.

This was the first competition Emma did her back walkover in and she nailed it!!! I was one proud momma!!
Madi loves cheering for Emma!

Cutie patooties!!

We decided to make a weekend trip so Saturday after the competition we all went back to the hotel and napped (since we had to be at the competition at 6:30 AM). That afternoon we went to the Opry Mills mall and ate at The Rainforest Cafe and saw "Frozen" (for the third time!).
PaPa braved the teacup carousel with the girls!
FYI... We LOVE Frozen!! It is the best!!
Madi insists on being called "Anna" just about every night!

Welcome babies!

We held a baby shower to welcome Emily and Tiffany's new additions!! It was so great to see all of my besties for a long-overdue visit! We can't wait to welcome baby Fletcher in March and Tiffany's baby twin girls in June!!!!

I love these girls and sure do miss them!!
